Design Program Manager

Job Summary:  Our User Experience Group is looking for a Design Program Manager who wants to do innovative work in a flexible and fun environment. Are you wired to think broadly about systems, patterns and process to innovate and improve how organizations work? You will work closely with fellow UX team members to nurture partner relationships and requests. We’re looking for you to help scale human-centered design in our organization and enable our design team to function seamlessly. Your leadership will be critical to maturing our UX practice, as you help manage some of our most visible digital products. The Design Program Manager will interact daily with designers and their associated business and technology partners. How they interact will be determined by them based on the specific needs of the people and the area they support. Lean, repeatable, traditional agile practices, such as standups, plannings, demos, and retrospectives, should be leveraged. Design practices such as Design Reviews/WIPs should be implemented. This individual will have the authority to drive interactions they determine are needed to: develop relationships, capture information, deliver high quality artifacts, facilitate alignment and decision making. Writing for purposes of business cases, work recaps, program announcements and facilitating change management will require strong communication skills.

Desired Skills/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 6+ years of design, project, operations and/or account management experience in delivering digital solutions
  • Consumer-centric predisposition and demonstrated relationship building experience
  • Polished communication and presentation skills; effectively navigate crucial conversations
  • Ability to understand data, analyze results and draw insights
  • Demonstrated collaborative, experimental and holistic approach to problem solving
  • Ability to work independently and apply strategic, systems thinking to maturing the UX practice
  • Experience organizing and adapting UX team practices within an agile scrum or XP environment
  • Knowledge of best practices for planning and executing human-centered design
